Home / News / We Link’d Another Great Kid Up With A Great Bike! The Link BMX Donations!

A huge thank you to everyone who helped us participate in the TreeHouse program’s project to provide a new, custom BMX bike to one of the teens receiving help from their organization.  Thanks in part to your donations, local teenager Julio is now enjoying his sweet new wheels.  The bike was carefully crafted from recycled parts with help from Pork Chop BMX, Link staff, and Jonny Rock Bikes who donated a final mechanical and safety inspection.  The TreeHouse program’s message of hope and never giving up on making things better is reflected in Julio’s bike, made from old, used parts that have been refurbished and transformed into a safe and beautiful work of art on which he can ride. The TreeHouse program offers hope and guidance to hurting teens and their families.  They offer a safe place for open up about the pain in their lives and receive support and guidance.  TreeHouse works to provide healthy role models for teens and instruction on dealing with pain and frustration in positive ways instead of making poor choices that put them at risk of physical danger and/or legal trouble.  Your support for Link helps us assist the TreeHouse program and other worthwhile causes.  All donations made are 100% tax deductible as we are 501c3 certified.  Teaming up with TreeHouse is just one of the projects we are involved in here at Link.  With your help, we can assist many other individuals in need.  To read more about the programs we support, go to our home page and read about some of our recent works!

    What people are saying...

    • ….sometimes you just need a little help from your friends, and other times you make new friends during a very difficult time.  This is what happened to our family when our son, Brett Banasiewicz, suffered a traumatic brain injury on his BMX bike on August 23, 2011.  Dustin Grice is one of Brett’s BMX buddies that reached out to us about the Link Foundation.  Jeff Troldahl, founder of the Link Foundation, and Dustin Grice designed a “Maddog” bracelet with Brett’s signature colors pink and green.  The Link Foundation sold many bracelets via the internet and also allowed us to sell the bracelets at Brett’s BMX Skate Park.  The proceeds went to Brett’s mounting medical bills.  Brett was able to obtain the best care in the United States that also included hyperbarics.  Brett had to relocate to Texas because the state of Indiana is not licensed to administer hyperbarics  for TBI’s..
