Home / News / Two 11 Year Olds Request Donations In Place Of Gifts For Birthday Party!

When is the last time you or your kid asked for charitable donations in lieu of birthday presents? I personally cannot recall doing such a great thing, or ever going to such a thoughtful birthday party.  Well, our great friends, and birthday super stars, Brooke and Kelly, did just that. They asked their friends to make donations to Link Support instead of giving birthday presents, and raised $90.00!  I know people three to four times their age that would never think to have a charity birthday party.  Brooke and Kelly are now official Ambassadors of Link Support, and by far our favorite representatives. We look forward to what Ambassadors Brooke and Kelly will do in the future.  If they are having ideas like this at their age, just think what they are capable of!  The world is a better place with Brooke and Kelly in it.  The Link Foundation is proud to have their support– thanks so much and happy happy birthday to both of you!

    What people are saying...

    • ….sometimes you just need a little help from your friends, and other times you make new friends during a very difficult time.  This is what happened to our family when our son, Brett Banasiewicz, suffered a traumatic brain injury on his BMX bike on August 23, 2011.  Dustin Grice is one of Brett’s BMX buddies that reached out to us about the Link Foundation.  Jeff Troldahl, founder of the Link Foundation, and Dustin Grice designed a “Maddog” bracelet with Brett’s signature colors pink and green.  The Link Foundation sold many bracelets via the internet and also allowed us to sell the bracelets at Brett’s BMX Skate Park.  The proceeds went to Brett’s mounting medical bills.  Brett was able to obtain the best care in the United States that also included hyperbarics.  Brett had to relocate to Texas because the state of Indiana is not licensed to administer hyperbarics  for TBI’s..
