When we lost our mother to breast cancer, I wanted to do something to fight back, to help, to make a difference somehow—but nothing felt quite right. Not long after that, my father passed away. To escape, I spent many days and nights working on bicycles. One day, I was working with a bicycle chain and it struck me. It’s not just me. We are all in this together, so we best hang onto each other—like the links in the chain I was holding. The link is a symbol that we are all connected, that we all feel love, that we all feel loss.
The idea is to wear a Pink Link in support of someone you love who is fighting cancer, someone you lost to cancer, or someone you know who needs your support for any reason, My hope is that people will wear them and give them to others with the message ‘I am here for you. I’m connected to you.’” No matter what kind of situation someone is in. Cancer or even a bad day.
Proceeds from the Pink Link will be donated to Family based Charities, hospice based charities, and some Cancer research based charities.
